End-of-Season Tournament Rule Reminders
Posted 3/2/2010
All tournaments will play by their regular season division rules except as noted below
For Boys 4th grade, A and B tournaments will play by Athletic division rules. C tournament and higher will play by Rec division rules.
For Girls 4th grade, A tournament will play by Athletic division rules. B tournament will play by Rec rules if one of the teams is from a regular season Rec division. B tournament games between two teams from the Athletic division will play by Athletic division rules. C tournament and higher will all play by Rec division rules.
For Boys and Girls 5th and 6th grade, the A and B tournaments will play by Athletic division rules. C tournament and higher will all play by Rec division rules.
Man-to-man defense will be a point of emphasis for referees of 3rd and 4th grade Rec division games.
Clearing out for one player in 3rd grade Rec games will also be a point of emphasis.
The team listed on the top line of the bracket will be the home team no matter where the game is being played. That teams book will be the official scorebook.
Teams must list the full name of their players in the scorebook for tournament games.
Playing time requirements are the same in the tournament as they were for the regular season. Any concern about playing time of an opposing team should be raised, with some documentation, prior to the start of the 4th quarter to the referees and opposing coach. It is not the referees responsibility to do anything other than acknowledge by signing the scorebook that the issue was raised. The observation of the referees would be gathered if a game were protested over playing time.
If concern over a team using an ineligible player is raised, it should be done prior to the start of the game, if possible. If a player is determined to be ineligible and has played in the game, the team automatically forfeits. If a potential ineligible player is identified and they dont play in the game, the game result will stand.
